According to Nick:
“There’s something about Indy comics. Discovering Creator owned Art and Stories have recently become something quite important to me. They are pure and unfiltered, free of overlords or corporate bias.
And not only are the stories enriching and original but by investing my time and money into them I know I am directly encouraging art and creativity. Through Indy Comics you get two stories: The one on the page and the one ‘in’ the page. You can see art styles grow and develop, page layouts evolve and the story telling skills that surprise you flourish.
When I started drawing Budgy I wanted to keep it simple. And flat! I used Garfield comics as a basis for what I wanted to achieve. But before long I started thinking and drawing in 3D, my characters were becoming whole and the world I was building developed a rich history and lore.
As my storytelling skills have grown I have since branched out and created new characters and worlds to enjoy.
